Compared to Samurai these were a doddle, especially when so much of the kit is mail, armour or leather. I've even painted the eyes on these little blighters which is usually something I run a mile from as the thought of cocking up a perfectly good face with goggle eyes is too much to bear.
I must admit some of these Vikings have the 'thousand yard stare' but Im attributing that to the light of battle glowing in their eyes rather than any lack of painting skill on my part.
I do not hope these show up near me, they're positively terrifying!
ReplyDeleteA fabulous addition the collection, there is something about Vikings arriving by longboat that is very hard to resist.
ReplyDeleteExcellent painting. Vikings are a joy to paint
ReplyDeleteThey look fantastic Gav! Who is the tosser that decided we are having a campaign? Anyway I will tell you more on Wednesday night.
ReplyDeleteVery nice painting, Sir.
ReplyDeleteGreat figures, and a trip down memory lane, these are quite old sculpts if I am not mistaken? I remember the figure on right in second pic, with raised sword. I must have bought that GW blister pack way back in the 80's... I still have him kicking about somewhere...
ReplyDeleteNice job. '1000yard stare'? Suits you Sir!
Not sure of manufacturer...they were lying dejectedly in the bottom of a bag of odds n sods and I kinda felt sorry for them so voila! they've come to life, resurrected from ignominity to go forth and plunder, rape and pillage....what have I unleashed!!
ReplyDeleteI am nominating you for the Liebster Award, check my blog for more details.
ReplyDeleteGreat looking Vikings!
